Numbers are bi-polar.

They hide as much as they reveal.

Some Observations here. 

Numbers are from http://eci.nic.in/. (Data as of May 17th 9:00 AM IST)

• Total Registered Voters  :81,45,91,184 

(Nearly the entire population of US (32+ Cr), Pakistan (18+ cr), Nigeria (17+ cr) , Japan(12+ cr) put together)

• Total Votes                  :54,07,25,627 (66.38%)

(Nearly the entire population of brazil, Russia, Mexico and Germany put together)

• Rest                            :27,38,65,557 

( Where were you all.. Including me..!!!!)

• AAP Votes                    :1,13,23,443 (2.0% Vote share)

(Remember BJP was formed in the 50's, grown in the 70's, won just 2 seats in the 84    elections. The 30 years of that era can be equivalent to 3 years of this era with all the communication channels and media. So not bad factually for an 18 month old party.)

• AAP Votes in TN :          :2,03,151 / 4,05,78,699 (~0.5% Vote Share)

(Seriously a better campaign strategy was needed.. at least in the south)

• Biggest Loser  : Obviously Congress ( -162)

( Not just BJP, you too broke all the opinion poll predictions Congress)

           

• Second Biggest Loser  in the country : DMK (-19)

(You had it coming)

• Number of Votes for DMK in TN : 96,33,869

( Seriously there are so many who refuse to free themselves out of the old sentimental chains..)

• Interesting Ladies Stat  :  BSP(Mayawati) secured 0 seats with 2.2 crore votes  ; ADMK secured 37 seats with 1.8 crore votes.

• Total NOTA Count  : 59,93,512

(Bravo...there is awareness)

• Constituency with Highest NOTA count : Nilgiris (Great Mr. Raja's constituency) -46,559

(Still couldn't believe he was able to contest in the first place..

worst being 3.5 Lakh hopeless voted for him.. how much socially unaware are people)
